In line with ST Connect's desire to continually to improve our treatment works - we have again invested into the Aldershot treatment works this year to improve the resilience and functionality of the site.
Working with a local company (Silchester controls) we have upgraded and modernised the site’s control system which in turn allows us to keep up with technology and open a gateway for further future improvements on the site.
Whilst this was a major task as it involved switching off the existing controls for the site, this was done in a managed way that did not stop the process.
In addition to the control improvements we have also invested in replacing some of the process equipment on site. Siphons that feed water on to the filters were changed to a more effective modern variant.
The replacement of these has given a better control of flow within the process and has the bonus of making the site maintenance easier as they are a lightweight material replacing the older steel ones which were difficult to remove and clean.
As the year moves on further investment will be going into the site for improvements in operation and monitoring. We look forward to sharing these with you soon.
